NAME Animal Facility, Biomodels development and Animal models Platform
The Animal Facility, biomodels development and animal models Platform, supports biomedical initiatives for the generation, incorporation and dissemination of scientific and technical knowledge. Its main goal is to promote research, development and biomedical training, providing health professionals with resources for the development of these initiatives through advice and collaboration in the design and implementation of research projects, biosafety projects, teaching and other activities whose procedures use animal models.

Animal disease models. Preclinical drug studies/ surgical techniques
Long-term housing of small and large animal disease models. This service allows the subsequent evaluation of the administration of different experimental drugs or surgical techniques, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics (PK / PD).
Assistance in surgical procedures in research and teaching projects
Assistance is in product administration, sample collection, cell inoculation, blood or fluid collection, anesthesia, analgesia, euthanasia, necropsy and sample collection, and postoperative care
Custom experimental procedures development
Establishment and fine tuning of disease models in both large and small animals allowing drugs evaluation, biomedical devices testing, etc.
Specific—pathogen-free (SPF) rodent breeding
Breeding and housing of immunosuppressed, transgenic, GMO, neurodegenerative diseases, rare diseases, oncology, etc. rodents
