NAME Blasting cabinets for texturing or polishing parts manufactured by AM

DESCRIPTION

Three grit blasting equipment able to treat components with different sizes and geometries. • NORBLAST S9 grit blaster (sample dimensions LxDxH: 900x540x540) • NORBLAST FN-30T grit blaster (sample dimensions LxDxH: 650x400x400) These machines are equipped with a built-in cartridge filtering cabinet which allows the cyclical automatic cleaning of the working cabin • S1400P grit blaster (sample dimensions LxDxH 1400x1400x1400). The cabin consists of a complete pneumatic installation of air filter, pressure reducer and a calibrated manometer. It is also constituted by a circular blasting tower. In that tower the residual dust of the abrasive is separated, capturing the mixture of the hopper of the cabin and allowing the residues to continue up to the filter. The cyclone is equipped with a regulation system based on the type of grain to be separated. These blasting cabinets can operate both with spherical grits (glass microspheres, ceramics, metallic shot, etc.) and with abrasive grits (corundum, siliceous sands, metallic grits, etc.) and allow the surface of a plastic or a metal to be textured or to reduce the surface roughness, up to 80%, in components manufactured by AM. Planned to acquire a monitoring and control software of the blasting machines that facilitates its connectivity with a MES from which the manufacturing plant of the components will be managed as a whole. The combination of this asset with the rest of the assets for the post-processing of additive manufacturing parts allows having a complete line of post-processing of AM parts capable of treating components with different types of requirements and a wide variety of geometries.

MOST OUTSTANDING EQUIPMENT AND COMPONENTS

  • Equipment for the evaluation of surface roughness

Equipment for the evaluation of surface roughness (perfilometre, confocal microscope, AFM) and equipment for additional surface characterization (thermography, wettability, brightness, weight loss, changes in geometry of the piece, corrosion, etc.)

  • NORBLAST FN-30T grit blaster

NORBLAST FN-30T grit blaster (sample dimensions LxDxH: 650x400x400)
equipped with a built-in cartridge filtering cabinet which allows the cyclical automatic cleaning of the working cabin

  • NORBLAST S9 grit blaster

NORBLAST S9 grit blaster (sample dimensions LxDxH: 900x540x540) equipped with a built-in cartridge filtering cabinet which allows the cyclical automatic cleaning of the working cabin

  • S1400P grit blaster

Blasting equipment model S1400P that can operate with different types of grit both spherical and abrasive with a cylindrical blasting tower with lower hopper and a cyclone (model CRS) that separates the residual powders from the abrasive.

SERVICES OFFERED BY THE ASSET

Advice for scaling and industrial feasibility study

Industrial and technical feasibility studies of the processes developed in this asset

Development and optimization of post-processing of AM parts. Prototype obtaining

Roughness control of selected areas with low surface curvature of metallic and plasticparts manufactured by AM. By combining this asset with others, a roughness reduction of up to 80% can be achieved. Surface cleaning

Process monitoring and control

Once the monitoring and control software has been acquired, the post-processing plant can be connected to the additive manufacturing processes and will have input on the specific requirements of the part or component to be treated.

Training

Practical and theoretical training in post-processing and surface finishing technologies.
