Inprimaketa funtzionala funtzionalitate berriak dituzten produktuak fabrikatzean datza, inprimaketa bidez. Horretarako, inprimatzeko teknologi tradizionalak erabiltzen dira (offset, hutsunegrabatua, serigrafia …), material aurreratuekin, hala nola tinko eroaleak, bioaktiboak edo termo-kromikoak. Horrela, balio erantsi handiko produktuak lortzen dira, aplikazio ugarirekin, kostu baxuan, modu masiboan eta ingurumen-inpaktu txikiagoarekin.
