In recent years, the Basque Government has defined its RIS3 Smart Specialisation Strategy which, among other things, covers the fields of specialised production based on the industrial fabric and the technological capabilities of the Basque Country. One of these fields is so-called Advanced Manufacturing, for which the Basque Government has developed a specific strategy, the Basque Industry 4.0 strategy. Basque Industry 4.0.
“The term Industry 4.0 refers to the 4th industrial revolution. A new level of organization and control that extends from the order to production, delivery, support, maintenance and final recycling”.
It is based on the intelligent, real-time gathering and processing of the information available throughout the entire value chain and the life cycle of products and production systems, trying thereby to meet increasingly customised customer requirements.
The Basque Industry 4.0 Conference was launched in 2014 and today is a multidisciplinary event where strategy, opinions, technology, experiences and workshops are combined and networking is promoted, making it suitable for companies in any sector. At the same time, it is an interesting event for universities, technology centres, consulting and engineering companies, public administration and industry-oriented service companies and, in short, for everyone who wants to learn first-hand about the different aspects associated with the fourth industrial revolution.
