This system combines specific hardware and software for processing point clouds and images taken by the vision system. Relative to the hardware, the vision system consists of a 3D camera model Zivid One Plus M, a high-quality industrial 3D recognition camera model. The system is ready for high-quality color inspection of 3D objects for collaborative and industrial work cells. On the other hand, the system employs a vision processing software, HALCON, version 18.11 Steady. Thanks to this program, complex vision-based automation processes such as defect inspection, part recognition, or intelligent algorithms can be developed to select the best part for picking. Thus, the robot can synchronize its task depending on the information received by the vision system. In addition, it can be used to inspect production through CAD models matching of parts models with the detected point cloud.

Thanks to the vision system, the parts of a binpicking container can be recognized (even paired with a 3D CAD model) to command the robot through the required position and orientation for subsequent manipulation.
Technical advice for vision applications in which coordination and/or synchronization with flexible or traditional industrial robots is required.
By coordinating industrial robots and 3D vision cameras, advanced and flexible quality control applications can be designed, implemented, and tested.
