The lab is prepared to study the biomechanics, physical and functional performance of healthy subjects, high performance athletes, and subjects with musculoskeletal and/or sensorimotor pathologies. The wide space and specific equipment of this lab allows us to perform these studies individually or simultaneously. It can also be used to validate rehabilitation and/or aid tools such as exoskeletons, orthoses, sport performance shoe soles... or to evaluate the effect of different interventions on the target population.

Orthopedic and rehabilitation Technology
3D Motion capture system
3D Motion capture system: 12 infrared cameras (Vicon Bonita 10 y Vero 2.2), 2 video cameras (Vicon Vue), two force platforms (Bertec) and a 16 channel electromyiographic recorder (Myon 320)
Echography machine (GE Healthcare)
Echography machine (GE Healthcare). This device allows to observe musculoskeletal architecture in real time.
Isokinetic evaluation device (Humac Norm)
Isokinetic evaluation device (Humac Norm). The system allows to measure the force, power, torque and proprioception of muscles involved in different joints and movement planes
Respiratory gas analyser (Ergostik) and treadmill
Respiratory gas analyser (Ergostik) and treadmill. The system allows to gather data about the oxygen that is consumed and the carbon dioxide that is produced while performing a motor task.
Vicon-Nexus (Vicon) software pack
Vicon-Nexus (Vicon) software pack for motion capture data processing, analysis and modelling
Medical or rehabilitation device, as well as aid tool evaluation using kinematic, kinetic, muscle activity and centre of mass displacement data analysis
Metabolic (energy consumption) and cardiorespiratory physiological response when performing a motor task while using medical equipment or an orthosis that helps to move
Image evaluation of the musculature using echography technique and movement force, power, moments etc. generated by muscles using an isokinetic measurement device. This allows to know the proprioceptive, isokinetic, isometric and concentric/eccentric capacity of the musculature before, during and after rehabilitation.
Robotic technology development and validation (exoskeletons and orthoses) destined to rehabilitation and assistance purposes. The usability and user's acceptance level is also tested.
