The Basque Biobank has the necessary equipment in 7 laboratories to process and store any sample derived from the human body and offer it to the scientific community.

Coordination of customized sample collection according to the criteria of a project
If the requested number of samples is not available, ad hoc sample collection is organized in collaboration with the Bioaraba, Biocruces Bizkaia and Biodonostia Health Research Institutes, according to project specifications. This service is preferably targeted at research centers, universities and companies working in personalized medicine.
Ethical and legal advice
According to current legislation, any use of biological samples must be justified within the framework of a research project approved by an ethics committee. A consultancy service is offered for the preparation of the justification report. This service is preferably targeted at research centers, universities and companies working in personalized medicine.
Medical imaging offer
Histology images of breast, colon and lung cancer and colonoscopy images associated with biological samples are offered. This service is preferably targeted at research centers, universities and companies working in personalized medicine.
Offer of biological samples collected and stored at Biobank
The Biobank has an e-catalog (https://www.biobancovasco.org/es/CA128-e-catalogo-de-muestras-y-datos.html) that informs in real time about available samples. It can be selected by pathology, type of samples, age and sex. This service is preferably targeted at research centers, universities and companies working in personalized medicine.

The correct processing of samples is vital for the generation of significant and valuable results for the execution of the project. We offer advice for the design of the collection and selection of the type of samples according to the objectives of the study.
